Privacy policy
This policy covers the website of The Datalysts and Datalysts Publisher, the internal tool we use to publish our own videos. The controller is Anton Di Meglio, reachable at dimeglio.anton@gmail.com.
What Datalysts Publisher accesses
Datalysts Publisher connects only to accounts owned by The Datalysts on Instagram (through Meta), TikTok and YouTube (through Google). With our own authorisation, it uses:
- access tokens that allow it to upload and publish videos to those accounts;
- basic account information (account ID, username) needed to identify where to publish;
- publishing status and performance figures for our own posts.
It does not access, collect or store data about other users, followers or viewers, and it does not read private messages.
YouTube API Services
Datalysts Publisher uses the YouTube API Services to upload The Datalysts' own videos to The Datalysts' own YouTube channel. By using this tool you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to data handled by YouTube and Google.
Through the YouTube API Services, the tool accesses only: the channel ID and name of the authorised channel, and the upload of videos with their title, description and privacy setting. It does not access, store or share any data about viewers, subscribers or other channels, and it does not use cookies or similar technologies on any device.
The OAuth refresh token is stored encrypted as a GitHub Actions secret and is used only to upload videos. No other YouTube data is stored. You can revoke the tool's access at any time from the Google security settings page; the stored token is deleted within 7 days of revocation or on request.
Other platforms
The same tool publishes to The Datalysts' Instagram account through Meta and to its TikTok account through TikTok, under the same rules: own accounts only, no data about other users.
How the data is stored
Tokens are kept as encrypted secrets in a private GitHub repository and used only by automated publishing jobs. Published videos and captions are content we created. We do not sell, rent or share any data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
This website
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log technical data such as IP addresses for security; see GitHub's privacy statement.
Retention and deletion
Tokens are kept only while the tool is in use and are deleted or revoked when it stops. You can revoke the tool's access at any time from the security settings of the relevant platform. For any request about data, see data deletion or write to dimeglio.anton@gmail.com.
Your rights
Where data protection law applies, including the GDPR, you may ask for access to, correction of or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and you may complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page with a new date.
